It uses proven tools based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support a variety of mental health issues.
The platform can be accessed immediately through any device, 24 hours a day, and is easy to use.
Access the platform for free with a referral from a GP, HSE Primary Care Psychologist, HSE Therapist/Counsellor (National Counselling Service/Counselling in Primary Care), HSE Community Mental Health team or Jigsaw.
In this video you’ll hear from Aidan, a Supporter working with SilverCloud clients.
How SilverCloud works:
The platform uses clinically proven digital CBT programmes which last 6-8 weeks. During those 6-8 weeks:
- You will learn about CBT and how to use its principles to support your mental health and wellbeing.
- You will be assigned a Supporter, who will guide you through your programme by sending you written reviews on a weekly basis.
Self-guided use will continue to be available to you even after you complete the guided portion of the programme.

Meet a Supporter
I have really enjoyed being with this team since the service was rolled out across Ireland in 2021. It's a very flexible kind of treatment for clients, which I like. Everyone on the team supports each other really well and there's great learning both from the client feedback and from my colleagues. My favourite part about being a supporter is being there for someone through a really difficult time and seeing them learn new insights and skills is very rewarding. I often get direct messages from clients which is something I really enjoy.
Louise Bhandal, Supporter
Meet a Supporter
It’s really meaningful work. There’s something about just logging in and seeing someone engaging. I might have seen someone share a message and they’ve taken something that they’ve learned from the programme, they’re applied to their day-to-day life and they’re noticing a difference. Because with depression and anxiety, it can feel so pervasive, it can feel so personal and like it’s going to last forever, and there is no way out. So when they get that first glimpse of a possibility that it’s going to be better, that’s what it’s all for really. You are getting them started on their first step towards a better life, where they feel more comfortable in themselves and more confident in their abilities.

Meet a Supporter
What I love most about being a Supporter is how my role is centred around creating a safe space for people to work through the programme and encourage and support them through it.

What Our Users Say
Alan, The Depression programme:
I liked that I received solid advice and coping strategies. In the past, I was only given vague and non-specific advice which I didn't find helpful. The program actively helped me to alter my behaviour and really helped me deal with my anxiety.
What Our Users Say
Anika, the Anxiety programme:
Having clear and structured modules helped me to work through my issues without making me feel frustrated as it was clear that the necessary changes would not occur overnight, yet progress was being made.
What Our Users Say
Julianna, the Depression programme:
Learning about the effectiveness of CBT in treating depression was a bit of a revelation for me. It made me feel more in control of my situation, like it might be something I had the power to fix.
